IlliDell Spring 2014 Scholarship Dinner
IlliDell of Alpha Gamma Sigma hosted another successful Scholarship Dinner April 9, 2014 to celebrate and recognize the academic achievements of the members during the Fall 2013 semester. The night was headlined by a keynote from College of ACES Associate Dean Bill Simmons. In addition to hearing his keynote, members and faculty guests heard an update about activities in and around the house by president Tyler Marsh.
In addition, the academic accomplishments of several members were recognized by scholarship chair Stephen Lake. For the Fall 2013 semester, IlliDell had a cumulative GPA of 3.15 and ranked 18 of 50 in the Interfraternity Council by GPA. Freshman Cole Stalter received the Roger Markley Outstanding Freshman Scholarship. The Joe Schafer scholarship was presented to Will Meuth, and Stephen Lake was awarded the Loreena Ivens Memorial Scholarship. Other academic honors presented were the Highest Room GPA which went to Room 10 of Tyler Marsh and Graham Hortin with a GPA of 3. 9, Higest Class GPA which went to the Freshman Class with a GPA of 3.3, Highest Major GPA was awarded to Agriculture Science Education with a 4.0 GPA, and the North vs. South contest which divides the state along Rt. 36 was won by the South. Members with the highest GPAs were freshman Graham Hortin and Sophomore Jacob Meisner with a 4.0 GPA each.
Congratulations to the men of IlliDell on all of their scholastic accomplishments in the Fall 2013 semester, and here's to an equally successful Spring 2014 semester.
