Polar Plunge

The men of IlliDell decided to brave the frigid water of Lake of the Woods in Mahomet Illinois to help raise money for Special Olympics Illinois. Special Olympics Illinois provides sporting events and the opportunity to be courageous, develop physical fitness and to have the experience of a lifetime for children and adults with intellectual disabilities at no cost to them or their families. In our first year we raised $1213 to support these athletes.”IlliDell of Alpha Gamma Sigma is founded on the principles of leadership and brotherhood.

The men of IlliDell have been actively involved in philanthropy events throughout the state, which help us strengthen our understanding of these principles.

Blood Drives

We sponsor a blood drive each semester through the American Red Cross. The purpose of this blood drive is to aid in the American Red Cross’ efforts and to bring awareness of how donating blood can prove to be a life saving measure. Working with the Red Cross is not our only endeavor in our pursuit to aid individuals in our community.

Bags 4 AGS
IlliDell of Alpha Gamma Sigma, with the help of Sigma Alpha professional agricultural sorority, began the Bags 4 Ags tournament in the Spring of 2014. This past fall, we hosted 32 teams at IlliDell to compete for a custom made bags set. The inaugural event donated the proceeds to the Birkey's 60 Day Hunger Drive, and this past fall we donated close to $850 to the Albert Pujols Foundation.
Each year the men of IlliDell also give back to the Champaign community by providing donations to groups which include: Don Meyers Boys and Girls Club, Lodge 117, Camp New Hope and Adopt-a-Highway.
Service Hours
Many of the members are also part of various clubs on and off campus. With these clubs, our members have volunteered many hours of service through various service projects and events. These include working with Habitat for Humanity, cleaning animal shelters, and various church fundraising events.
